- GAP offers a wide range of products and services for environmental monitoring and the mapping of areas at hydrogeological risk, using surveys and methodologies based on satellite remote sensing data and in situ measurements. Below are the main areas of expertise of our spin-off company.
Satellite Radar Remote Sensing

Multi-temporal interferometric analyses using the SPINUA ยฉ technique (Stable Points INterferometry on Un-urbanised Area) for the generation of high-resolution DSMs and the detection of millimetre-scale ground surface movements (ERS, ASAR, RADARSAT, COSMO-SkyMed, TerraSAR-X, ALOS PALSAR sensors).
VIS/NIR Satellite Remote Sensing

Satellite remote sensing using optical sensors with low or high spatial and temporal resolutions for monitoring the health status of marine ecosystems and their degree of eutrophication. In situ measurements of chemical and biophysical parameters for air and water quality assessment.
UAV Technologies for Land Surveying and Monitoring

Landslide monitoring (orthophotos and 3D models). Inspection of buildings, monuments, bridges, dams, and pylons using high-resolution video. Inspection of high-risk sites using HR video. Wind turbine blade inspection (HR photos and videos). Monitoring of landfills and quarries (orthophotos and volumetric measurements). Documentation of archaeological sites (orthophotos), 3D reconstruction of monuments, and building surveys using high-resolution orthophotos and DSMs.
Meteorological Services
High-resolution weather forecasting using numerical modelling. Modelling systems for forecasting environmental hazards, including wildfires and hydrogeological risks. Processing of meteorological and climatological data and wind reanalysis.

GAPโs extensive experience in numerical signal processing has enabled the company to transfer algorithms originally developed for remote sensing to other fields requiring advanced digital data processing techniques. These include:

The know-how acquired in numerical signal processing has also led to the development and implementation of a commercial software suite called:
GAP Stereo Vision
GAP STEREO VISION is a modular suite of software tools designed for the advanced processing of radar and optical image datasets, providing the following functionalities:
Accurate feature and shape extraction and positioning: applications range from the automatic detection of flooded or inundated areas to the identification of tumour masses in mammographic imaging, as well as high-resolution digital terrain models, pattern recognition, and other applications.
Object and target tracking: examples include the measurement of ground displacements (subsidence, landslides, earthquakes), ocean wave measurements, and the tracking and correction of the position and attitude of missile platforms and UAVs.
Medical GAP Software Lab โ Sinach Project

Magnetic resonance image segmentation is a fundamental step in several medical applications. The GAP Software Lab, developed by GAP within the SINACH project, provides a solution designed to meet the needs of both operators requiring reliable results in a short time and more experienced users wishing to experiment with different segmentation techniques, such as active contour-based methods, combinations of thresholding and active contours, or manual refinement tools for interventions at the individual slice level.
