GAP provides operational weather forecast runs using various limited-area models (LAMs) with appropriate grid configurations and resolutions. At present, this service utilises a two-grid configuration comprising a domain covering the entire country (10 km resolution) and a domain centred on Puglia (maximum resolution of 2 km), for short- and medium-term weather forecasts. The same procedures can be adopted for operational runs in other areas in Italy and abroad. For this short-term local forecast, GAP is able to provide hourly maps, at different altitudes, of various atmospheric parameters such as:
